Tony Caruso grew up around the railroad industry, became a professional firefighter, and simultaneously learned the plumbing trade. After decades of managing two careers, he’s a retired fireman and has turned the family business over to his three children. Monica, Anthony, and Michael now operate the 40-year-old, 15-person company in Bedford Heights. AC Plumbing,
Heating & Mechanical specializes in hydronic retrofits, serving commercial and residential clients throughout a large territory north of Columbus. Tony maintains a patriarchal roll, filling in as needed, mostly in the office and on intricate hydronic projects.
In addition to being a fi.re instructor, investigator and inspector; Tony teaches various hydronic and steam courses as well. One of his favorite classes is called Near Misses, which he has presented to the local NEO Chapter.
Tony is very active at the local level. He served as president of the NEOMPHCC for two terms and recently finished a two-year term as treasurer.
Being a licensed professional plumbing contractor for over 30 years, Tony was one of three PHCC Members to present testimony in favor of our residential licensing bill in Columbus. What’s good for the company is good for the trades, and ultimately good for the community. So, they take the opportunity to learn as well as teach.
